The Culinary Academy of Norway was founded on the basis of interest, joy and inspiration for the culinary industry. The goal was to make a centre where newly educated chefs and wine waiters could develop their skills efficient through long or short courses.
 
The Culinary Academy of Norway put emphasis on Norwegian food, increase the knowledge and the joy of good food and beverage and shows how important this is to the Norwegian culture. The staff is highly regarded chefs and sommeliers in Norway and Europe.
They have all been handpicked to join the team. Their skills, education and knowledge from Norway and elsewhere in the world is very important as the aim is always to highten the standards both in service and products delivered in the food and beverage industry.
 
 
The Academy do co-operate with the University of Stavanger with their international study programs.
 
In August 2007, the Academy opened their new facility in the city centre of Oslo.
They offer a modern arena with demo-kitchen, conference facilities, auditorium and a team of very competent colleagues.
 
Course program
Twice a year a course program is presented for our customers and students.
The program is divided in one part for professional development and one part for private persons (non-professionals). The Culinary Academy of Norway educates Chefs and Sommeliers in Norway. In addition you can do 3 levels of Wine & Spirits Education Trusts (WSET) wine courses and complete your Diploma of wine.
For busy chefs that want to refresh and update their skills, small courses on 1 to 2 days basis are presented with titles like; Dessert -a la carte, Fun with pastry and chocolate, Food for competition and creative garnitures, Buffet style food, menus and presentation, Game and poultry and What’s trendy?
 
Options of courses for non-professionals are popular. People with great interest for food and beverage can group together around the kitchen bench and either follow the chefs theatrical cooking show or be part of the cooking with them. Themes are endless and can even include a private competition of ready, steady cook.

The lecturers are mainly the Academy’s own staff with assistance of external persons having key competence in their special areas.
 
 
Special courses
The Academy also designs special courses for the food processing industry, food retail stores or Hotels and restaurants that want to provide their staff with more knowledge within their specialities. The content will be tailored to adapt for your requirements and wishes. The national and international network within the different professional directions, make it possible for them to offer a wide variety of activities. The courses can take place either at the premises or at a place of your choice!
 
 
Product development
The Culinary Academy of Norway has throughout the years contributed to develop and refine Norwegian food articles.We keep a close eye to the international development in order to boost Norwegian producers. If you have an idea that you want to discuss and evaluate, the staff can give you advice or hand-on suggestions on development.
 
 
Export initiative
The Academy has done several marketing and promotion projects of Norwegian food abroad. The Norwegian Seafood Export Council, Innovation Norway, Tine BA (Norway’s largest dairy producer) and The Ministry of Agriculture and Food are mainly our customers abroad.
From promoting Norwegian Seafood in Asia to major embassy receptions, the Academy guide you through the initial planning to presentation, to ensure that the product reaches the “guest” in an exiting and successful way.
 
 
Young chefs program
The Culinary Academy of Norway is one of the few places in Norway that has a program for Commis, (young talented chefs) who have just left their apprenticeship, to help them train and achieve further knowledge in their young career.
We also co-operate with The Culinary Team of Norway. In the past recent years the team has achieved an incredible record of good results world wide.
